Care Earth Lanka (CEL) conducted these two surveys as part of an initiative to promote community-based waste management systems at the grassroots administrative level. The findings provide insights into the composition and diversity of waste generated and disposed of in the two selected localities.
As a first step, the surveys assessed the types and quantities of waste produced within the communities, and the results have been compiled into this report. Building on these findings, the next phase will focus on proposing context-specific waste management and disposal plans tailored to the needs and capacities of each locality.
